Who's Who: Cara Beckerle - Aleah's Mother

In an attempt to clarify who is who in Aleah's life, I am going to write a series of posts on the key people in this case. Who are they? Where do they live? How are they related to Aleah? That sort of thing. Up first is Cara Beckerle, Aleah's mother.

Cara Beckele with Aleah

Cara Beckerle is 37 years old, born on October 30, 1978. According to her Facebook profile, she graduated from Harrison High School and also attended Ivy Tech to study Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting. She is the mother of 3 children - Aleah Beckerle, C.R., and M.R. (initials only for the other children since they are minors). She lives in the 400 block of Iowa Street in Evansville, IN.

Cara has been the subject of a lot of controversy. Her on again, off again relationship with Demarco Roach (a convicted felon, more on him in another post) has caused many to wonder why she allows dangerous people to be around her children. Her criminal past has made many question whether she herself could have hurt or killed Aleah, given a pattern of recklessness in regards to her children.

Relevant Criminal Records:

8/17/2005: 2 seatbelt violations for a child age 4-12 years old (case 82D05-0508-IF-11917)

9/18/2005: Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in a manner that endangers a person (case 82D05-0509-CM-06229)

01/06/2007: Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in a manner that endangers a person (case 82D05-0701-CM-00124)

08/01/2007: Dealing in marijuana and neglect of a dependent (case 82C01-0708-FD-00855)
Case note: during a court ordered drug test, Cara tests positive for Benzodiazepines which are commonly used to treat seizures

Another source of controversy for Cara is her lack of searching since Aleah disappeared. Many state that she has only been at searches at which the media is filming and she has been MIA at all other searches. At the beginning, her family claimed that they were told by Texas Equusearch that close family should not search. Later, they reveal that Cara had a life-saving surgery in Indianapolis in mid-June 2016 that limits her ability to search.

Even this surgery has had some scrutiny, with some believing it didn't happen at all and others stating it occurred at an earlier date than stated. Because of this, family released a graphic photo of the surgery in the Bring Aleah Home group (post link). This seems to have been done for shock value since a hospital bill from the correct date and hospital would have been enough proof for most people.

Cara has done several interviews since Aleah disappeared and her behavior and words have also been scrutinized. One news station released raw footage of their interview and Cara starts off by saying "Let's just get this over with, I don't want to sit here longer than I have to..." and viewers have noticed that she seems to worry more about people seeing her dirty house than about pleading for Aleah's safe return. You can see the raw footage of the interview below. This is the original version of the video. News 14 deleted the original version and uploaded an edited version that removes a small portion.

I'll let you decide what to make of that video but if you have some negative feelings towards Aleah's mother, you're definitely not alone.

Cara has been spotted in public several times since Aleah disappeared and every appearance has been met with more anger by the public. She has been seen at a wedding, at Chuck E. Cheese, the mall, Walmart, and several other places. Reportedly, she does not seem distraught and she even has photos where she is smiling and having a good time.

I'm trying to stay neutral, but I really can see where the anger is coming from. What do you think?

Is Cara acting like a mother who is desperate to find her missing child?

Two Months Gone and No Suspects in Aleah's Disappearance

Aleah Beckerle has been missing since July 17th, 2016. The police have followed over 300 tips and have come up short. Three people have been arrested for beating a man into falsely confessing to the abduction. Search leaders have come and gone. Search groups are dwindling. Rumors are swirling. Yet, no sign of Aleah and no one has come forward with any information that has lead anywhere.

If you're reading this, please take a moment to share one of Aleah's missing posters. Someone knows something and maybe your post will be the one that finds Aleah.

Despite what you feel about the family (and yes, I feel it too), Aleah is still missing and she deserves to be found. If she is deceased, she deserves a proper burial. If she is alive, she deserves to be removed from whatever situation she is in and put somewhere safe. Either way, she deserves JUSTICE. You don't have to donate money or search with the family but you can keep your eyes peeled for anything suspicious going on and search your own property and areas that you think she may be.

If you aren't from Evansville or can't leave your home, you can still help by sharing the flyers and keeping Aleah's name out there.
